I saw a really good article today about some of the more positive points as to why artists should take advantage of working with legitimate art galleries. Now I will grant you that just like all other industries that have to deal with money and sales that there are a fair amount of art galleries that have either a good or bad reputation for dealing straight with their artists.
In a time of recession as we are all experiencing right now I think that an effect that I would like to refer to as the karma effect is happening right now. Hopefully those art galleries that have been on the up and up with their support and dealings with their artists are seeing positive results in these hard times. On the other hand I hope that those art galleries that shall we say have not been so reputable with their deals are struggling or gone altogether. Sorry for you but you reap what you sow as the old saying goes.
