Good day to you internet peeps the other night I was helping out my wife who happens to be a teacher. She was in the middle of doing some art project planning for her class when she had a couple of ideas that were in need of some clip art. I was already helping with some of the process when I volunteered to find the clipart that she was looking for or at least what was my interpretation of what she was looking for
So I began my clip art search for a teacher where any lazy PC user that has MS office would and that of course would be with the library of clips in Word. Needless to say the clip collection that is included in your standard install of Word leave a lot to be desired. I know that I should have bypassed this route all together considering how much free clip art is available online now a days. Hey what can I say I was trying to take the lazy route to complete my task in the least amount of effort.
Anyway after a good amount of ribbing from my wife for being so lazy that I could not even google clipart I decided to dive into the vast world of free clip art sites. Needless to say there are a ton of sites out there especially for teachers who are looking for ideas to compliment their art projects for school. It occurred to me while I was looking at different images that the older schools kids get that the less they probably see clip art for school projects.
My wife teaches preschoolers so as you can imagine at that age it’s all about the images they see. Lot’s of class time involving cutting, pasting and coloring images of letters, numbers and holiday stuff. Over the year I have actually gotten quite proficient at cutting along the lines with little preschools scissors
Anyway sorry about the little side rant on all the cutting and pasting I have done over the years sometimes when you start writing things you get side tracked and before you know it you are half page away from the point of your post. I guess that is the joy of writing a blog of random thoughts
Back to my clip art for teachers search, there were quite a few really good sites that I came upon in my extensive Google search (thanks G!) Not surprisingly most of the results for that particular phrase were domains and pages that are geared towards and this should be a real surprise to everyone ‘teachers!’
The teacher files site was by far the best place to find what my wife was looking for and it is a very easy to search and find website. I would highly recommend the site to anyone that is looking for clip art for educational purposes or school projects. For your clip art needs the site has a nice breakdown of categories but the best thing about the site are the other teacher resources that are made available to other teachers like lesson plans, certificates and other links.
So if you happen to read this post in the hopes of finding some useful clip art just click on that link that I put up there and you will find the clip art for teachers that you were looking for Oh and by the way in case you were wondering and you know you were my wife’s art project for her class was completed on time and quite successful if I do say so myself.
